As the excitement builds for the Alliance Tournament Finals, let's briefly recap the tournament so far and go over the details for the upcoming events!

It’s been just over seven weeks since the tournament kicked off with the first rounds of feeder matches. The starting pool of 50 were whittled down to 28, which joined the top-four teams from last year in the regular 32-team, Double-Elimination bracket.

A short while ago, we received news that the previous Alliance Tournament XX rules and registration announcement transmission has become corrupted and should be considered untrusted and invalid. The IGC has resupplied the data alongside an updated press release:

The final weekend of Alliance Tournament XIX is almost here!

32 Alliances entered the Tournament and, after an absolute bloodbath, with the loss of 11 flagships with an estimated value of between 600-700 billion ISK! After some truly epic matches we have to say goodbye to the following Alliances from the tournament.

With the action boiling up over this coming weekend, let's do a quick recap on the tournament so far as well as details for this weekend's events!

It's been a little over six weeks since the tournament trumpets first sounded in the first rounds of the Alliance Tournament, the feeder rounds, back at the end of June/start of July. With 48 teams registering at the start of the Tournament, we needed to whittle that number down to 28, combined with the 4 winners from last year, which gives us our regular, 32-team, Double-Elimination bracket.

With the 19th Alliance Tournament less than a month away now, teams are deep into theory-crafting and testing their "It works on the spreadsheet" compositions via scrimmages with other teams and internal practices. Part of that practice is finding a Flagship that synergizes well with the composition, as well as the challenge of both finding someone with the skills to fly it and hunting down the modules that you wish to supply it with. The last thing you want to happen is for your flagship Raven to end up being equipped with the following: Lazers.

The signups were due to close today, 23 August, but it has been extended by one more day, to 24 August, 23:59 UTC. Also, to keep things in line, the Roster (and Merc) lock is being extended one more day to 31 August, 23:59 UTC.
